Quibids

Overall Rating

Quibids is our No. 1 rated penny auction. Quibids offers great customer service, 100% accountability and most importantly a great opportunity to get an amazing deal. Qubids is one of the original penny auctions and they have made use of their head start. They have the most products in every department. While they have a huge amount of users they keep the competition in line by having a huge amount of auctions. The layout makes navigation a breeze and finding live auctions is simple.

Placing bids is easy and are priced competitively at $0.60. They come in packs of 40, 75, 300, 600 and 800 bids. These bids are availible in your account and each time you bid it adds a maximum of 20 seconds to the auctions. The last bidder wins when the timer reaches zero. All products are brand new, factory sealed with full manufacturer warranty.

Quibids is my personal favorite penny auction because of the great product selection and impeccable track record. They have proven time and time again that they are fair and accountable and have an industry first “Buy it Now” feature. Quibids is the only penny auction that even if you lose, you can still buy the product with the bids placed coming off the price of the product. The “Buy it Now” feature is one of the main reasons Quibids is our top rated penny auction, if you are a serious bidder then you WILL get a deal, whether you win the product or not. That’s why QuiBids has become so popular. There’s no reason not use to it to save! Use promo code WinNow and get 3 FREE bids on your next purchase.

Plundr

Overall Rating

Plundr is a newer penny auction that has broken out in a big way. While the interface may not be the flashiest it is clean and searching for auctions is easy enough. The competition on auctions is pretty low right now so it’s a good time to jump in and catch a deal.

Like most penny auctions you have to pay to play and buy bid packs up front, but as a bonus they are awarding 10 free bids with your first bidpack. The bids are very nicely priced at as low as $0.50 and the larger the bid pack the better the price.

BidCactus

Overall Rating

BidCactus is a Better Business Bureau accredited penny auction with a stellar “A” rating. While the product variety is lacking behind Quibids you will find a good selection of electronics and other products to bid on. The interface is clean and a breeze to navigate and search, with all important pages and information clearly linked.

All Bidcactus products are brand new and factory sealed. All auctions start at $.10 with zero reserve. Bids will cost you $0.75 and and come in a variety of package sizes however there is no volume discount. However with a proven track record and high level of accreditation we believe BidCactus to be a great place to win!

Ziinga

Overall Rating

Ziinga is a fairly new penny auction but they have a good track record. They have a decent selection of products however they could be organized better. The biggest negative about them is the cost of bids is higher then most penny auctions. Ignore the over the top sales pitch on the home page and take a look at the registration. It’s clearly laid out and only takes a few seconds to view the features of the site and register.

Bids range in price from $1.19 each down to $0.67 each. The more bids you buy at a time the more you save.

I just won Fuel Cell Oakley’s from QuiBids. How can I verify that they are the 100% real Oakley’s?

I just got them today and I just want to be sure that they are real.
OO9096-04 is the item #. They are the clear fuel cells with the violet Iridium lenses. I’ll post pictures in a bit. I was just wondering what the key things I should be looking for to determine if they are real or not.

Please post pictures or more of a description. Model numbers, lens colors, insert colors, etc.

thx

Can somebody explain Quibids buy it now feature?

I am considering purchasing a macbook air off of quibids and hopefully for a discounted price, by using the buy it now feature. So if I use this feature is it just the amount of money I have spent on the bet that is subtracted from the price or is it the amount every1 has spent on the price?

Best reply by John Bill:

You can get an overview of our ‘Buy it Now’ feature on our Help page by clicking here. If you are still unsure about ‘Buy it Now,’ then stick around and read the rest.

The ‘Buy it Now’ feature is set in place so that you can come to QuiBids and not lose any money and come away with the item you want. Granted, there are some people who will spend up to almost the item’s retail value, not win the auction and then not exercise this feature… This kind of act stuns us! At that point, why are those users not using the Buy it Now?! We strongly encourage our users to exercise this feature if you do not win the auction you’re bidding on. On the other end, if you do end up winning the auction, and get the item for a sweet deal, then that’s awesome!

Ok, so here’s how it works. Let’s say you’re going to bid on a $100 Visa gift card. In this auction, you end up placing 60 real bids (that’s $0.60 a bid x 60 bids = $36). You’ve just spent $36 in bids. Now, let’s say you didn’t win the auction. If you exercise the ‘Buy it Now’ feature, you will then need to make up the difference of $64 in order for us to send you the gift card. By doing this, you have not wasted any money. Now, if you did not exercise this feature, then yes, you will have lost the initial $36 in bids. Taking this same example… say you spent that $36 on the auction and won. You then won your $100 Visa gift card at a 64% discount. Awesome.

Another example, say you are bidding on a $187.59 Flip UltraHD Camcorder. You place 55 real bids, which means you just placed $33 worth of bids. If you win the auction, then you would then be a saving 84% of retail value!

Is quibids a joke how can they offer their products at such a low price?

Best reply by Wayne Z:

They actually lose money on the sale.

They make money by charging 60 cents per bid.

While 60 cents doesn’t some like a lot, each bid also increases the end time of each auction. So, you could spend hundreds of dollars in bids and never actually win anything.

Does Quibids online auction actually work?

I recently saw an add on TV for qui bids, and checked the site and found multiple Xbox 360′s, which im planning on buying one, were sold for under $20, and thought it was a little bit too good to be true, so i was wondering if there were any hidden charges or anything that would make it cost more aside from the shipping and bid price.

Best reply by Karitsa:

yes it actaully does work cept there is a catch…when yu sign up yu have to pay so much to be able to bid on items. meaning yu have to pay money to have so many bids..for example to get 100 bids yu have to pay $60. its not worth it. cuz not only are yu bidding on an item and buying that item, yu are also paying money to get so many bids to be able to bid on an item. its bogus. so to answer ur question, yes there are hidden charges (having to pay for bids before bidding on an item) the bids arent free. ebay is sooo much betta lol

Why doesnt Quibids let me bid on some things?

I use Quibids but I don’t understand why I can’t bid on some things while signed in. I may look around on the website to see what I might want to bid and when I sign on to watch the item it disappears. I have to close the window and reopen it to see the item again but once again signing in makes it disappear. This has happened on a couple of occasions. Why does it do this or am I the only one who gets this problem?

Best reply by tblenns:

it may have to do with your win limits. You can only win a certain number of items each day, week, month. Also you can only win a limited number of items over a certain price.

If you haven’t won anything lately it might just be because the front page of the site lists the most recent auctions not necessarily all of the open auctions.

Is Quibids really selling electronic devices for such a low price?

Best reply by Gene L:

No, not really…you have to bid (like an auction or like eBay) on the items and get the highest bid in order to “win” it. And oh, btw…you have to purchase the bids from them (that’s how they make their money). The way the Quibids auction works is that you are only able to bid a single penny at any time during the auction. However, at Quibids, you must purchase each 1 cent bid for 60 cents.

So, let’s say you buy a number of bids and don’t get the item, Quibids gets your money, you get nothing. Basically, for every item up for auction, there’s only ONE winner.
